Samsung Buds4 Pro launching soon... 🤔

3rd February 2026, Singapore -

We’ve got news that the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 Pro and the Buds4 are coming soon!

Leaks from Dealabs suggest that at the upcoming Samsung Unpacked, happening on 25 February, the new Buds4 Pro will be launching alongside the S26 series.

They will reportedly retail for 249 Euros for the Buds4 Pro and 179 Euros for the Buds4, so Samsung is not raising prices this time from what the Buds3 Pro’s launch price.

They might also be including some launch freebies with every purchase. This could vary depending on location, for example, in France they are offering a free 25W charging pad. In Singapore, maybe not, but it would be great if they did. And apparently, they’re also going to look pretty different, while having a few extra features that the Buds3 Pro didn’t have.

Everything that we know about what it looks like came from Android Authority. They grabbed leaked animations embedded in One UI 8.5, and from there, we can see the Buds4 Pro looking pretty different from the Buds3 Pro. The Buds3 Pro’s design was, *ahem*, heavily inspired by AirPods, and they also had triangular stems that had these blade lights on them.

Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro’s Blade Light

These are like glowsticks which light up depending on certain actions, and they can also be turned on manually if you feel extra Cyberpunk that day. No more! It seems they’ve completely scrapped that, instead opting for a simpler flat profile without blade lights on the stem. I think the blade lights were cool but honestly, it wasn’t essential, and for some people it was too attention grabbing. I honestly don’t care about those lights anyway so if they’re gone, big deal.

The stems have also changed to a more conventional flat shape, while retaining the same squeeze controls as the Buds3 Pro. It also seems to me that there’s a touch pad here. If it is a touch pad, I’m wondering what it could be for because even without additional touch controls, the Buds3 Pro could already allocate all controls on a single earbud - swiping for volume up down, and squeeze gestures for music, calls and ambient controls.

The design of the case has also changed. It’s no longer AirPods style, but something resembling the Buds2 Pro’s clamshell design. This time, with a transparent lid so you can see into the case, just like you could with the Buds3 Pro.

The case also seems to have a speaker which could be for playing alerts and tones when it’s charging, or possibly for using the new Find your phone feature if you’re looking for it. The Buds3 Pro didn’t have this feature, the new one does. But it’s not the only new feature. The Buds4 Pro will also have head tracking.

It remains to be seen whether head tracking needs to be activated with a Samsung device, or at least an Android device with the Galaxy Wearable app, but you can use it to respond to phone calls, notifications by nodding or shaking your head, dismiss alarms and alerts, answer yes/no questions with Galaxy AI, and handsfree control. Quite a lot more than what other earbuds are using head tracking for, but I’m betting that most likely you’ll need to have an Android device to run this.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Buds4 Pro performs versus the previous model. Will it have better mic pickup, and especially noise canceling since Apple’s been pretty dominant in this area with the AirPods Pro 3?

From what I can see from the nozzle’s length and angle, it’s not likely to have a proper plug-in fit like AirPods, so most probably its ANC performance is going to be something similar to the previous model offered. What would be a nice surprise, though, is if Samsung finally patches the Galaxy Buds app for iOS, so that we can access its features, custom settings, and firmware updates. I’m not holding my breath for this one, but we’ll see what we can and cannot do on iOS once I get my hands on them.
