Sony WF-1000XM6 - New Details Emerge!

(Singapore - 11 February 2026) Just before the Sony WF-1000XM6 comes out, some new details have emerged about it, this time from a discovery made by my friend MrWalkman, who got onto this Japanese webstore, exposing pretty much everything there is to know about the WF-1000XM6.

It’s all in Japanese, but I enlisted the help of my close collaborator Mr CoPilot, and got them translated. Not perfectly, but we can still glean lots of useful info. I’m going to talk about what’s new, and I’ll be livestreaming the launch as well reviewing them when they come out, so get subscribed and tap the bell button to stay notified.

According to Sony, the XM6 earbuds are 11% slimmer than the XM5, and now it’s designed so that there’s more emphasis on ergonomics, and can fit better into the ears. It does look a little fatter than the XM5 when viewed from the side, so if you’re going to wear this to sleep, it remains to be seen how comfortable it will be. A new ventilation system will also improve comfort and reduce internal noise for what they’re describing as a comfortable listening experience. And they now have improvements to the position and size of the antenna system, it’s 1.5x larger than the previous version. This could be to address the issues with connectivity that a good number of people had on the XM5 earbuds.

The new QN3e processor and the extra microphones will also help deliver up to 25% improvement in noise canceling, and improvements to mic quality with 2 beamforming mics and 1 bone conduction sensor per earbud. Super Wideband is also listed here as one of the improvements. Big and exciting claims, but we’ll have to verify that in our testing.

We also learned previously that the driver unit’s new. We still don’t know the size of the drivers, but they’re described as having a patented notch geometry that eliminates the need for resonance suppression, and at the same time improves high frequencies, depth and low frequencies. Integrated processor V2 now supports 32-Bit signal processing, something that, according to this graphic, the XM5 earbuds don’t support, even if it does have the same V2 processor.

So those were all the new info that I managed to glean from these images. For more details about the XM6 from previous leaks, check out this video, and get subscribed so you don’t miss my review of the WF-1000XM6 when they come out, which is very soon.
