Oppo flips in with Find N3 foldables

By Shawn Chung - Singapore

Oppo held the global launch of the Find N3 and Find N3 Flip foldable smartphones, and we were there to get our greasy fingers all over the preview units.

As the names suggests, the Find N3 foldables are Oppo’s third generation of foldable devices, but while the previous two foldables never made it out of China, the Find N3 will, with pre-orders in Singapore now available.

Oppo Find N3

The Find N3 follows the now traditional ‘book’ design of a cover screen and a folding internal screen, with a bright 6.3-inch outer screen, while the inner screen is 7.8-inch when fully unfolded. Both panels boast up to 120Hz dynamic refresh rates and 2,800 nit peak brightness, while three speakers with Spatial Audio ensure that you will always get a rich sound, no matter what orientation you view the smartphone.

Oppo is also immensely proud of the technology that went into the Flexion Hinge of the device, which is not only rated to withstand 1,000,000 folds but also works in temperatures from -20° to 50° Celcius. The Find N3 also weighs just 239g, and is 5.8mm slim when open and 11.7mm when closed.

Available in Champagne Gold with a glass back, and Classic Black with a vegan leather back, the Find N3’s most noticeable feature is actually its main camera module, which contains three pro-grade cameras, equivalent to 14mm, 24mm, and 70mm focal lengths. The main 48MP sensor is the world’s first application of the Sony LYTIA T808 1/1.4” type 2-layer stacked CMOS image sensor in a foldable. There’s also a 64MP sensor with a bespoke 3x optical periscope zoom.

Running Android 13 with ColorOS 13.2, the Find N3 will also receive four years of software updates and five years of security updates. There’s a Global TaskBar with App Library and File Pocket to ensures recent files and apps are always within easy reach, while Boundless View empowers users to use three apps on the 7.8-inch screen, virtually representing a 15-inch monitor.

A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform with 512GB UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB LPDDR5X RAM, enables true flagship gaming and multitasking, with the ability to run over 40 apps in the background, thanks to OPPO’s Dynamic Computing Engine. With a large 4800mAh battery, reliable day-long power is ensured and with class-leading 67W SUPERVOOC fast charging, while a short 30-minute charge delivers 80% power, and it charges to 100% in just 42 Minutes.

Oppo Find N3 Flip

The Find N3 Flip features new wallpapers and updated versitility for its Cover Screen, which now is able to support third-party apps like Gmail, Wallet, Grab, Telegram, TikTok, X (formerly Twitter), WeChat, WhatsApp, and more. Oppo has also added cheeky, playful Interactive pets in 3D with more pets to pick from, including a Panda, Koala, Tiger, Dog, Bird, Rabbit, and Cat.

Find N3 Flip is also the first flip phone with a flagship triple camera and the first with a telephoto camera. This class-leading imaging system features a 50MP wide, 48MP ultra-wide, and 32MP 2x zoom equivalent telephoto camera.

Find N3 Flip looks elegant and available in Sleek Black, Cream Gold, and Misty Pink. The main 6.8in, 120Hz, AMOLED screen unfolds, it looks bright, vibrant, and deep. Plus it has IPX3 rating, with its upgraded Flexion Hinge tested to 600,000 folds.

Powered by the flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200 and featuring the largest, thickest graphite layer of any flip phone, Find N3 Flip is fast, reliable, and keeps its cool. Its large 4300mAh battery also ensures it lasts a comfortable day, as OPPO’s class-leading 44WSUPERVOOC fast charging means you won’t be waiting around for a top-up or full Charge.
