Why Pixel 10 Pro Fold BEATS Samsung Z Fold 7 🔥 (2026 Review)

The first reason why the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is better than the Samsung Z Fold 7 is that it takes better photos. It may not pack as many megapixels, and zoom capabilities may not be as impressive, because it doesn’t get to 30x digital zoom like the Samsung, but from the main camera. But I am getting cleaner, contrasty, more color-accurate shots under daytime lighting, and in low light conditions, it may not be as color accurate as the Samsung but it looks cleaner, sharper and more vibrant.

Somehow the post processing just plays to my preference more which led me to this conclusion. But that’s just the first reason, there are 4 more reasons why I think the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is better, and to balance things off, I’m going to list down reasons why the Z Fold 7 is better than the 10 Pro Fold. Spoiler alert, I do think the Z Fold 7 is better overall, but maybe you’ll think differently.

The second reason why the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is better is the camera features. Google’s a pioneer in using AI to really enhance the way we take pictures. Some of those features are now widely copied, like Magic Eraser, being able to crop out unwanted elements of your photos.

One feature worth mentioning is ‘Add Me’. When taking group pictures, even the person taking the photo can join in, or even just to clone thmselves in photos. (See above) Another feature that all phones should have is ‘Best Take’ so even the most chaotic group photos will have everyone looking at the camera with their best smiles.

The third reason is thicker bezels. Some people may hate it because it makes the phone look bigger, but for me it simply means I get a slightly better grip when holding it with one hand while reading. My hands are big but you never know, accidents do happen.

The fourth reason is something that I haven’t seen anyone mention, maybe because it’s not so obvious, but it matters to content creators like me. When shooting videos with the Pixel, the audio is perfectly synced up to the video, whereas that isn’t the case on the Z Fold 7.

On the Samsung there is a small lag of about 250 ms. That’s a quarter of a second, so if you’re just watching the video, you cannot sense it easily, but when editing the videos in an app like Davinci Resolve, it’s very obvious. And if you are running a multicam setup with different phones and cameras, it can be a little tricky to sync the footage together perfectly.

And the last reason is simply that you get the latest Android updates the soonest, be it security updates, or new Android versions or features.

Pros on Samsung Z Fold 7

But hold on, as I said in the beginning, I do think the Samsung Z Fold 7 is a stronger choice for a foldable device, and the first reason is the most obvious - it’s super thin, about as thin as a regular phone. That is a HUGE deal, because I’m getting triple the screen with no compromise to size and weight versus my usual phone. The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is just a little bit thicker and a bit heavier, but that small difference is already making it feel more bulky to hold and in the pocket.

Second reason why the Samsung is better is it’s better graphical performance for gaming. I ran 3Dmark tests on both of them, and every single time the Samsung yields way better frame rates, even with very challenging benchmarks. That’s because it uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor which is more powerful for gaming, whereas the Tensor G5 of the pixel is designed more for smoother operations and AI. Not really for gaming.

Some people are okay with that because they don’t game on their phones anyway, but if you want to play COD mobile at Ultra Graphics settings, the Z Fold 7 will feel smoother. I’m not saying that you can’t game on the Pixel. It definitely can handle demanding games, just not the most graphically demanding titles, and don’t expect frame rates to be as smooth.

Third, Samsung shoots better video. Aside from the fact that it shoots 8K natively which the Pixel doesn’t, the stabilization is better, and the images retain more detail and sharpness versus the Pixel which still shoots videos that look fuzzy. That fuzziness is more obvious when zoomed in.

Fourth, the Pixel 7 Pro’s speakers, by default, sounds smoother, richer in the mids, and louder than the Samsung. But as a whole, the Z Fold 7 is better for audio, because it does have better audio related settings like a universal graphic EQ, so you can tweak it to sound the way you want, which you can’t do on the Pixel. Dolby Atmos also makes its speakers sound more spacious so when you’re listening to music, watching videos or gaming, the left and right channel outputs feel more separated and airy.

(Now as for codecs, the Z Fold 7 may not support audio codecs like aptX HD. which the Pixel supports, but it’s got the standard LDAC and AAC codecs, along with Samsung Seamless Codec for Samsung earbuds.)

And finally, the Z Fold 7 has better multitasking. You can run apps in up to 3 split screens, or 5 floating windows. The Pixel only supports up to 2 apps at one and only in left right configuration.

And there’s simply more flexibility on the Samsung because you can arrange the apps to go left or right, up or down. Some people may say, who needs that many windows anyway, it’s not a big screen, so 2 is enough. But for me, sometimes I just want multiple apps to run at the same time. So while I’m answering emails and web browsing, I could play a YouTube video or a music app in the background.

Conclusion

Those are the reasons why I prefer the Z Fold 7, but as we saw, there are areas where the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is also better, and for many, it could be good enough, while saving a few hundred bucks.
