Here’s What We Found Interesting at WWDC 2025

Singapore, May 10, 2025 – It is confirmed. The next generation of iOS will not be called iOS 19, but iOS 26. This new naming system doesn't just apply to iOS but also to visionOS, watchOS, macOS, tvOS, and iPadOS.

What caught our attention was the number itself, OS 26. Apple said the jump from 19 to 26 is meant to align with the current year. One of the most talked-about features during the presentation was Liquid Glass. This new design language is coming to almost every OS. At its core, Liquid Glass is a UI that brings a transparent look to your background. Apple actually introduced something similar back in the 2010s with the MacBook, but this time it has been completely redesigned to feel more modern. That said, the apps that currently support Liquid Glass tend to look a bit too minimal and empty, which makes the experience feel a little bland.

Another big highlight is Apple Intelligence. This year, Apple is introducing features like Live Translation, Visual Intelligence which can identify objects on your screen, and Genmoji, which you can fully customize. Honestly, the first two features don’t feel all that new since Android users have had similar tools for years.

The most anticipated part of WWDC 2025 for many people was iOS itself. iOS 26 brings a few fun updates like a dynamic clock that matches your wallpaper and 2D photos that can be turned into Spatial Photos, giving them a subtle 3D effect for a more immersive look. The camera interface has also been redesigned to be cleaner and more minimal. If you are used to One UI 7, iOS 26 might feel somewhat familiar. That familiarity also extends to the Photos app, where Apple finally separates screenshots from your photo library. Yes, you no longer have to scroll endlessly to find the right album.

As for iPadOS, Apple is calling this the biggest update ever for the iPad. It finally introduces real multitasking. You can now open and move around several app windows at once, something Android has had for over a decade.

There were a few other announcements too. macOS is getting a new name, Tahoe, and the Apple Watch can now provide live feedback and insights during workouts when paired with AirPods. But we decided to focus on the parts we found most worth talking about.

Developers can start trying OS 26 today, while the public beta will roll out next month. The official release is expected this fall.
